This one features a few dozen different banknotes and countries from every inhabited continent on Earth. It gathers them as a study in strands, slender bands lifted from notes across the globe and set side by side across a single American dollar. Each strand carries a history, a language, a border, a memory. Each accepts its neighbor. Together they form a measured spectrum that reads like a ledger of arrivals and a record of welcome.
At the center is a plain and deliberate act. UNITED is written above George Washington. That simple transposition is the thesis and the promise. The United States is a melting pot of many countries and many cultures, of many hands and many stories, and the dollar is their shared ground. Many strands, one field. Many nations, one story. We are still one united dollar together.
